| The finger puppets in this collection are all characters from well known nursery rhymes. Use them to enjoy all the advantages that nursery rhymes can bring to developing language and early phonological awareness. You can use an activity like this to reinforce turn-taking in a small group, as a “filler” activity at the end of a session, or just as a prompt to help you remember some rhymes! One of my favourite activities is to put the puppets in a bag and let children pull them out one by one. Can they remember that the star is for “Twinkle, Twinkle”? Alternatively, sing a nursery rhyme and ask the children to find the character. Or a plethora of other uses too! |
